FAQs

I am not a professional performer, can I still work with you?
Yes. We work with anyone with a toe in performing! From dance teachers, vocational students, full-time students to West End performers. We know you face unique pressures and environments which contribute to the development and maintenance of issues surrounding food and body image and we are here to help.

I work backstage, can I still work with you?
Yes. Our support extends to backstage teams. We understand fully that unfortunately these issues don't just stop when you enter the backstage area. We work with stage managers, WHAM, agents, casting...

I have never been diagnosed with an eating disorder, can I work with you?
Yes. Many of our clients have never received a formal eating disorder diagnosis and often feel unsure whether they are “sick enough” to seek support. This is especially common among performers, who can be highly functioning while living with disordered eating patterns or ongoing food and body image concerns.

At Iris Clinic, we do not diagnose eating disorders. However, if your relationship with food or your body is affecting your wellbeing, performance, or quality of life in any way, you deserve support. You don’t need a diagnosis to reach out or to benefit from working with us.

Do you offer parent/carer support?
Yes. Please reach out to us on support@irisclinic.co.uk and we provide resources, information, support and 1-1 sessions.

Do you work as part of a multi-disciplinary team?
Yes. As an online clinic, we work closely with GPs and therapists to ensure our clients receive well-rounded, coordinated care. Iris Clinic is a fully supervised service, with care delivered by affiliated registered dieticians. When appropriate, we collaborate with other healthcare professionals involved in your support to make sure your care is safe and ethical.

Do you offer sessions outside of traditional working hours?

Yes. Performers work weird and wonderful hours around the clock and so do we! We will always find a time that fits.
